This award invites applications from GPs and Practice Managers who have been actively involved in commissioning a new local service that has delivered results for their practice and clinical commissioning group (CCG). The candidate is not required to have chaired or led a CCG group or cluster, but should demonstrate an engagement with clinically-led commissioning in providing an innovative practice-based service that has benefited its local community.
Applications should demonstrate:
- CCG involvement
- Locally focused service provision
- Improved patient outcomes
- Cost-effective delivery
Criteria that the judges will be marking against
- Clear evidence of the Commissioner’s impact on their patients, surgery or the local area
- Evidence of exceptional local leadership, imagination and/or innovation and how these qualities have influenced the outcome of their work
- Robust data collection and analysis, showing measured improvements in patient care, including clinical outcomes
- The sustainability of the changes observed
